Truly a gem
I’m listening to a 10 minute audio clip this afternoon that my Dad, who passed away in 2005, recorded about his mission. He talked about how he was interviewed by Elder Spencer W. Kimball for his mission and was asked if he had a preference of where to serve and my dad told him that he wanted to serve among the “Lamanite people.” Elder Kimball said he couldn’t promise him...
Perfectly honest
Talked to a friend today and he reminded me that in The Book of Mormon it says that this people were “perfectly honest and upright in all things.” Thought about how we are to be “honest in our dealings”.
Whatever price it takes to live the Gospel, I’m all in. For the long haul.

Fair statement
“Inasmuch as ye have done unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40
So… let’s break this down. Whatever you do to anybody, you do to Christ. Can we say that to live the Gospel is to treat others with love and respect? I would say that’s probably a fair statement.

Understanding
Informationally, the Gospel can be intellectually stimulating but understanding the doctrines of the Gospel with your heart and living them faithfully, makes all the difference.
Endings. Beginnings.
2009 was an interesting year. We’ll just put it that way. Probably some of the most intense challenges of my life and conversely the most amazing miracles and blessings. Life isn’t about living in the past. It’s about faithfully and consistently becoming better. More specifically, more Christlike. And to echo Elder Wirthlin’s words once more - Come what may and love...
