Jesus saw each of us

I have thought this for some time, studied it in the scriptures and finally I see a church leader say it for the first time in my life.  This was said in 1995 and that, oddly enough, was probably one of the first times I wondered about this verse. It seems I’ve never had a definitive answer to the question of Mosiah 10:14 but now I do. Christ saw us and we were his key motivation in accomplishing the infinite atonement.

“In the garden… Jesus saw each of us and not only bore our sins, but also experienced our deepest feelings so that he would know how to comfort and strengthen us.”

Merrill J. Bateman - May 1995 (Ensign article)

I also find it extremely interesting that this post comes directly after the “higher order of kingdoms” post.  I discussed this higher order question with close family and have come to some conclusions about these verses.  These are the two scriptures that I’ve pondered continuously, for years.  There truly are treasures of knowledge in the scriptures if we read with focus, ponder, write, pray.

And this is precisely why I write!  To encode the scriptures that I read, into my soul, so that they become alive in me.  The light which flows through them becomes an extricable part of my soul.
